Today we had a special guest teach us a bit about Ninjas. She is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and brought her hitting/kicking pad for the kids to practice on. Bevin, Una’s Mum, was our guest and the kids were very excited to learn a punch and a kick to be used only if someone is attacking you. She also had them doing some forms while counting to 10 in Korean.
During the morning, the kids were outside in the sun for most of the time. There were the normal activities digging for worms, filling the sand box with water, and climbing the play structure. Then, of course, there was a car game of some kind having to do with running the car up the slide in order to see how it rolled upon impact with the ground. I think they are trying to see who can get the most rolls at one time.
Inside, we finished making butterflies by dropping liquid water colors on butterfly shapes made out of an absorbent type paper. It is great to see the colors mix and mingle as they work through the paper.
The play dough table was busy with cookie making today. Una made a cookie for everyone in the class while Lex worked on a different project. The water table had four over sized teeth, four toothbrushes, four toothpaste tubes, and bowls of water to rinse the teeth when you were finished. Rowan kept me on task to ensure I found the tooth paste and added it to the fun.
Pooky came to class to have his teeth checked. Josie checked him out while River decided he needed to have his teeth drilled. Poor Pooky, maybe he will be a better brusher now!
My thanks to Bevin and Brittni for all of their help today!
